We had two back to back scambi this week: first with my son Anziano Ferguson and then one with Anziano Gasser. Fergie and I had a good time reliving the good old Firenze days from when we were both under 6 months in the mission. With Anziano Gasser I was in Pavia and we taught some really awesome people.
On Thursday night I had to drive home from Milano during a torrential downpour. I could barely see the road ahead of me for the first half of the drive. I was slowing down as to not hydroplane on the highway when all of a sudden a saw a pair of headlights whip past me going the opposite direction. Yes, some goon was flying down the fast lane of the highway going the wrong direction. Good thing I was two lanes over or I wouldn't be writing this email right now.
Back in Lodi it was all just lesson after lesson. We started teaching an old friend of the Sorelle's and when we taught about the priesthood he basically begged us to show him how he could have it. Now he's super excited to get baptized and continue learning. We also met with a kid who is the son of the Relief Society president. He's 10 and loves soccer so we played with him and his brothers before. Right as we finished the game and started our lesson, their dad (who is not a member of our church) pulled up and sat in for the lesson. He even added his own testimony of Christ's Atonement which was super awesome.
To finish off the week we had some more awesome lessons, some with people we didn't even know were interested as much as they were. Sometimes it's easy to get in the habit of expecting people to not listen, but lately some golden people have been popping up left and right here in Lodi. After that we played some Exploding Kittens with the homies in church and even though we probably did it wrong we still had a blast (haha *sigh)
Also as for transfer news, there is no transfer news. Still rocking the same duo in Lodi 🏋♂️🏋♂️

I heard Elder Holland quote someone this week saying "love is what you go through together." I came to see that in a very real way this week as some stuff went horribly wrong at times but then my comp and I were able to work things out. As we've had to struggle through some stuff together, we've definitely become better for it. Truly the Lord consecrates our afflictions for our gain (2 Nephi 2:2).

Questa settimana abbiamo fatto due scambi consecutivi: il primo con mio figlio Anziano Ferguson e il secondo con Anziano Gasser. Io e Fergie ci siamo divertiti a rivivere i bei tempi di Firenze, quando entrambi eravamo in missione da meno di 6 mesi. Con Anziano Gasser sono stato a Pavia e abbiamo insegnato ad alcune persone davvero fantastiche.
Giovedì sera sono dovuto tornare a casa da Milano sotto un acquazzone torrenziale. Per la prima metà del viaggio riuscivo a malapena a vedere la strada davanti a me. Stavo rallentando per non slittare sull'acqua in autostrada, quando all'improvviso ho visto un paio di fari sfrecciare davanti a me nella direzione opposta. Sì, un pazzo stava volando sulla corsia di sorpasso dell'autostrada nella direzione sbagliata. Per fortuna ero a due corsie di distanza, altrimenti non sarei qui ora a scrivere questa e-mail.
A Lodi è stato tutto un susseguirsi di lezioni. Abbiamo iniziato a insegnare a un vecchio amico delle Sorelle e quando abbiamo parlato del sacerdozio ci ha praticamente pregato di mostrargli come poteva averlo. Ora è entusiasta di farsi battezzare e di continuare a imparare. Ci siamo anche visti con un ragazzo che è il figlio della presidentessa della Società di Soccorso. Ha 10 anni e ama il calcio, così prima abbiamo giocato con lui e i suoi fratelli. Proprio mentre finivamo la partita e iniziavamo la lezione, il loro padre (che non è un membro della nostra chiesa) si è avvicinato ed è restato per la lezione. Ha persino aggiunto la sua testimonianza dell'Espiazione di Cristo, il che è stato super fantastico.
Per concludere la settimana abbiamo fatto altre lezioni fantastiche, alcune con persone che non sapevamo nemmeno fossero così interessate. A volte è facile prendere l'abitudine di aspettarsi che le persone non ascoltino, ma ultimamente qui a Lodi sono spuntate persone d'oro a destra e a manca. Poi abbiamo giocato a Exploding Kittens con gli amici in chiesa e, anche se probabilmente abbiamo fatto male, ci siamo divertiti (haha *ahimé).
Inoltre, per quanto riguarda le notizie sui trasferimenti, non ci sono novità. Ancora con lo stesso duo a Lodi 🏋♂️🏋♂️
Pensiero spirituale!
Questa settimana ho sentito l' Anziano Holland citare qualcuno che diceva "l'amore è ciò che si attraversa insieme". Questa settimana l'ho capito in modo molto reale, perché a volte alcune cose sono andate terribilmente storte, ma poi io e il mio collega siamo riusciti a risolverle. Abbiamo dovuto lottare insieme per alcune cose, ma siamo diventati migliori per questo. In verità il Signore consacra le nostre afflizioni per il nostro profitto (2 Nefi 2:2).
"Onorate tutti. Amate la fratellanza. Temete Iddio. Rendete onore al re."(1 Pietro 2:17)
