Week 90: Lighting Up Lodi

First off, week 90 is causing a slight existential crisis right now, just wanted to throw that out there. That's a big number. Seventeen or so to go I think 💪

First week in Lodi was great! We found tons of people and had some awesome lessons. The members are also on another level which we are very thankful for. We went and played soccer with them Friday night which was super fun (except for the part when I wrecked my foot, seems like XC season will have to wait for 2025).

Great things coming in Lodi. People are just falling into our laps. We met this guy and taught him about Angel Moroni and he just about fell over because it turned out his name is Moroni. It was pretty funny. We also had one guy walk up to us and told us he met the Assistants to the President back when they served in Lodi over the summer. They'd never managed to meet with him again so it was a miracle that he came to us when he saw us. Sorella Lund texted us a few days later telling us we should go meet with him, but she couldn't remember his name. Thankfully we had found his contact from when we met him so it all just worked out perfectly.

A classic little Easter scripture for y'all:

"And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection. But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ. He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death." Mosiah 16:7-9

To put it as simply as the Because of Him video, "the end does not exist because of Him". Truly there are no dead ends in Christ.

Innanzitutto, la 90esima settimana sta causando una leggera crisi esistenziale in questo momento, volevo solo dirlo. È un grande numero. Ne mancano circa diciassette, credo 💪

La prima settimana a Lodi è stata fantastica! Abbiamo trovato un sacco di gente e abbiamo fatto delle gran belle lezioni. Anche i membri sono di un altro livello, cosa di cui siamo molto grati. Siamo andati a giocare a calcio con loro venerdì sera ed è stato divertentissimo (a parte quando mi sono distrutto il piede, sembra che la stagione delle corse dovrà aspettare il 2025).

A Lodi stanno per accadere grandi cose. Le persone piombano su di noi. Abbiamo incontrato un ragazzo e gli abbiamo parlato dell'Angelo Moroni e lui è quasi cascato a terra perché guarda caso il suo nome è Moroni. È stato piuttosto divertente. C'è stato anche un ragazzo che si è avvicinato a noi e ci ha detto di aver conosciuto gli Assistenti del Presidente quando hanno servito a Lodi durante l'estate. Non erano mai riusciti a incontrarlo di nuovo, quindi è stato un miracolo che sia venuto da noi quando ci ha visti. Sorella Lund ci ha mandato un messaggio qualche giorno dopo dicendoci che avremmo dovuto incontrarlo, ma non riusciva a ricordare il suo nome. Per fortuna avevamo trovato le sue informazioni che avevamo preso quando l'avevamo incontrato e quindi tutto ha funzionato alla perfezione.

Un classico delle scritture pasquali per tutti voi:

"E se Cristo non fosse risuscitato dai morti, ossia se non avesse spezzato i legami della morte affinché la tomba non avesse la vittoria, e la morte non avesse il pungiglione, non vi sarebbe potuta essere nessuna risurrezione.

Ma vi è una risurrezione, e perciò la tomba non ha la vittoria, e il pungiglione della morte è annullato in Cristo.

Egli è la luce e la vita del mondo; sì, una luce che è infinita, che non può mai essere oscurata; sì, ed anche una vita che è infinita, cosicché non ci può più essere la morte." Mosia 16:7-9

Per dirla in modo semplice come il video Grazie a Lui, "la fine non esiste grazie a Lui". In verità in Cristo non ci sono vie senza uscita.
