Week 87: Cancel All Your Plans, We're Going to Milano

This week started off with a nice little scambio with my District Leader Anziano Nelson. He's a heat seeking missile on the streets, he has no fear of talking to people. We also hit a little up tempo run to spin the legs but got a little excited and hit a mile in under 6:30. That's easily the fastest I've run since June of 2022.

We had stake conference this weekend in Milano but weren't planning on going to the Saturday session since we had lessons. Then with 4 hours to go we got informed that the stake president had requested that as many missionaries as possible show up to sing the mission hymn. All of us had to scramble to reschedule everything and travel to Milano, but somehow every single missionary managed to pull it off.

The sun finally came out after three straight weeks of rain so we spent a few hours handing out fliers for an interfaith event we were having. It reminded me of doing Scout fundraising when I was 12. On Tuesday we had a big finding blitz in Como with the district and I got to do it with my Zone Leader Anziano Tanner. Great dude, we had a good time together and found a few cool people.

Someone at stake conference shared something that I really liked: while the world and the news share stories of chaos and hopelessness, our prophet, President Nelson, shares a message of hope and prophecies of miracles.

"In coming days, we will see the greatest manifestations of the Savior’s power that the world has ever seen."

TRADUZIONE IN ITALIANO

Questa settimana è iniziata con un bel piccolo scambio con il mio capo distretto Anziano Nelson. È un missile a propulsione per le strade, non ha paura di parlare con la gente. Abbiamo anche fatto un po' di corsa a ritmo sostenuto per mettere in moto le gambe, ma siamo andati un po' in fibrillazione e abbiamo fatto un miglio in meno di 6:30. È il tempo più veloce che abbia mai fatto dal giugno del 2022.

Questo fine settimana avevamo la conferenza di palo a Milano, ma non avevamo intenzione di andare alla sessione del sabato perché avevamo delle lezioni. Poi, a 4 ore dall'inizio, siamo stati informati che il presidente di palo aveva richiesto che il maggior numero possibile di missionari si presentasse per cantare l'inno della missione. Tutti noi abbiamo dovuto fare i salti mortali per riprogrammare tutto e viaggiare a Milano, ma in qualche modo ogni singolo missionario è riuscito a farcela.

Dopo tre settimane di pioggia è finalmente uscito il sole, così abbiamo passato qualche ora a distribuire volantini per un evento interreligioso che stavamo organizzando. Mi ha ricordato la raccolta fondi degli scout di quando avevo 12 anni. Martedì abbiamo fatto un grande blitz di ricerca a Como con il distretto e ho avuto modo di farlo con il mio Capo Zona Anziano Tanner. È stato un grande, ci siamo divertiti insieme e abbiamo trovato un po' di gente in gamba.

Qualcuno alla conferenza di palo ha condiviso qualcosa che mi è piaciuto molto: mentre il mondo e i telegiornali raccontano storie di caos e disperazione, il nostro profeta, il presidente Nelson, condivide un messaggio di speranza e profezie di miracoli.

"Nei prossimi giorni vedremo le più grandi manifestazioni del potere del Salvatore che il mondo abbia mai visto".
