Week 83: Roasted By Sorella Wells

Sorella Wells is probably one of the kindest people I've ever met but the other day while I was complaining about something that Italians do, she goes "are you talking about yourself?" with zero hesitation. I don't think she meant it as a roast but it was flipping hilarious.

On Thursday we had to run to the church to film our video that was supposed to drop Friday morning. In typical fashion it took twice as long as expected. After that it rained for like three days straight so the work kinda slowed down. We did manage to have a really awesome missionary work seminar with our friends in church on Friday so that was fun. I then proceeded to get sprayed in the eyeball with muddy water by a car driving by. Rip.

On Monday we got transfer news which was very anticlimactic as Anziano Barnes and I are staying together for a third transfer. That's pretty rare but we kinda saw it coming since Presidente Wood has told us last week that there was a possibility of it happening since we run tech together.

Yesterday we ran over to Milano to film a few videos for our Facebook page. We ended up being there all day but had a great time honestly. Unfortunately Anziano Barnes accidentally took Anziano Ferguson's backpack home with us so we had to figure out how to get it back to him today.

Reading the Isaiah chapters in the Book of Mormon in Spanish is really dang hard, but sometimes a verse just hits. This verse is a reminder that one reason we follow Christ in this life is to gain power from him. We gain that power by making and keeping covenants with Him, like baptism. If we are faithful, we are promised that everything in the end will work out. Because of that we have no need to fear.

Sorella Wells è probabilmente una delle persone più gentili che abbia mai conosciuto, ma l'altro giorno, mentre mi lamentavo di qualcosa che fanno gli italiani, mi ha detto "Stai parlando di te stesso?" senza esitazione. Non credo che lo intendesse come un affronto, ma è stato davvero comico.

Giovedì abbiamo dovuto correre in chiesa per girare il nostro video che sarebbe dovuto uscire venerdì mattina. Come sempre, ci è voluto il doppio del tempo previsto. Poi ha piovuto per tre giorni di fila, quindi il lavoro è stato rallentato. Venerdì siamo riusciti a tenere un seminario sul lavoro missionario davvero eccezionale con i nostri amici in chiesa, quindi è stato divertente. Poi un'auto che passava di lì mi ha spruzzato acqua fangosa negli occhi. Che gioia.

Lunedì abbiamo saputo dei trasferimenti, il che è stato molto statico, dato che io e Anziano Barnes resteremo insieme per il terzo trasferimento. È una cosa piuttosto rara, ma in un certo senso ce lo aspettavamo, visto che la settimana scorsa il Presidente Wood ci ha detto che c'era la possibilità che ciò accadesse, visto che gestiamo i media insieme.

Ieri siamo andati a Milano per girare alcuni video per la nostra pagina di Facebook. Alla fine siamo rimasti lì tutto il giorno, ma onestamente ci siamo divertiti molto. Purtroppo Anziano Barnes ha involontariamente portato a casa con noi lo zaino di Anziano Ferguson, quindi oggi abbiamo dovuto trovare il modo di riportarglielo.

Leggere i capitoli di Isaia nel Libro di Mormon in spagnolo è davvero difficile, ma a volte un versetto colpisce davvero. Questo versetto ci ricorda che uno dei motivi per cui seguiamo Cristo in questa vita è quello di ottenere potere da Lui. Otteniamo questo potere facendo e mantenendo le alleanze con Lui, come il battesimo. Se siamo fedeli, ci viene promesso che alla fine tutto si risolverà. A causa di ciò non abbiamo bisogno di temere.
