Week 73: Lidl Unity (feat. Roma 2 Sorelle)

We bought Lidl Christmas sweaters last p day and wore them on our Europe tech Zoom on Friday. We were on the call with the tech Sorelle in Rome and they went and busted out their sweaters which they also apparently had. Unity 🤝

On Thursday we had an exchange with the Zone Leaders and that was pretty cool. I also spent like 3 hours making the Facebook Christmas stories for our mission's page since literally everything was going wrong.

On Friday we got to see a baptism in Busto Arsizio for the lady I interviewed in Spanish last week. I forgot all Spanish I knew at the baptism so yeah Gift of Tongues for sure carried the interview.

On Monday we had interviews at the mission office. Man I love interviews with the Woods it's always such a good time talking about the mission with them.

Yesterday we went to Chiasso in Switzerland to visit a member and it turned out that she served her mission with my dad. Small world.

Pensiero spirituale!

A quick thing I realized after listening to a talk by Elder Uchtdorf: if the purpose of the Atonement was merely forgiveness and purifying us from the Fall of Adam, then we'd just be stuck in the same spot we were before the Fall. Therefore the meaning of life would be meaningless because we'd just be here to reset at the end. This is in part why Christ asks us to exercise faith and follow Him, not because we're contributing to the price he paid for us but because He knows it'll fundamentally change us and help us progress to become better.

TRADUZIONE IN ITALIANO

Abbiamo comprato i maglioni di Natale della Lidl lo scorso pday e li abbiamo indossati venerdì durante la nostra riunione su Zoom con i missionari della tecnologia europea. Eravamo in collegamento con le Sorelle responsabili della tecnologia a Roma e loro sono andate a mettersi gli stessi maglioni, che a quanto pare avevano comprato anche loro.

Unità 🤝

Giovedì abbiamo avuto uno scambio con i Capi Zona ed è stato molto bello. Ho anche passato circa 3 ore a creare le storie di Natale su Facebook per la pagina della nostra missione, dato che tutto andava letteralmente storto.

Venerdì siamo andati a vedere il battesimo a Busto Arsizio della signora che ho intervistato in spagnolo la settimana scorsa. Ho dimenticato tutto lo spagnolo che conoscevo al battesimo, quindi sì, il Dono delle Lingue ha sicuramente portato avanti l'intervista.

Lunedì abbiamo fatto le interviste all'ufficio della missione. Adoro le interviste con i Woods, è sempre una bella occasione per parlare della missione con loro.

Ieri siamo andati a trovare un membro a Chiasso in Svizzera ed è venuto fuori che ha svolto la sua missione con mio padre. Il mondo è piccolo.

Pensiero spirituale!

Una cosa veloce che ho capito dopo aver ascoltato un discorso dell'Anziano Uchtdorf: se lo scopo dell'Espiazione fosse solo il perdono e la purificazione dalla caduta di Adamo, allora saremmo semplicemente bloccati nello stesso punto in cui eravamo prima della caduta. Il senso della vita sarebbe quindi privo di rilevanza, perché saremmo qui solo per resettare alla fine. Questo è in parte il motivo per cui Cristo ci chiede di esercitare la fede e di seguirlo, non perché stiamo contribuendo al prezzo che ha pagato per noi, ma perché sa che questo ci cambierà radicalmente e ci aiuterà a progredire per diventare migliori.
