Week 55: Ballin in Bologna

This week was actually pretty anticlimactic. The highlight for sure was our lesson with a friend of ours where he opened up about his experience with the Book of Mormon. He said he wasn't super into religion when we met him and only gave us his number because he wanted us to go away. However when he started reading the Book of Mormon and meeting with us, he said a huge cloud of darkness in his life just went away. That really caught his attention and is a testimony to him of the truth of the Book of Mormon through the light that it brought to him and his family.

In other news we have zone conference tomorrow so we went to Bologna today for a zone sports p day. I bought a 15 pound watermelon too but only had a bread knife to cut it so that was interesting.

Spiritual thought!

"And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do." 1 Nephi 4:6

Now that I'm at a year plus I can start reading my mission journal from last year. I've read about so many miracles from even just my first week or two of the MTC. In the moment though I had no idea I was being led by the Spirit and even writing about those experiences they felt pretty normal. Now as I reflect back on them I see truly how miraculous those things were and there's no way it all could've all just been some crazy coincidence, but rather events guided by our Heavenly Father.

Questa settimana è stata in realtà piuttosto deludente. Il momento saliente è stato sicuramente la lezione con un nostro amico che ci ha parlato della sua esperienza con il Libro di Mormon. Ha detto che quando lo abbiamo incontrato non era molto interessato alla religione e ci ha dato il suo numero solo perché voleva che ce ne andassimo. Tuttavia, quando ha iniziato a leggere il Libro di Mormon e a incontrarci, ha detto che un'enorme nube di oscurità nella sua vita è sparita. Questo ha davvero attirato la sua attenzione ed è una testimonianza per lui della verità del Libro di Mormon attraverso la luce che ha portato a lui e alla sua famiglia.

Passando ad altro, domani abbiamo la conferenza di zona, così oggi siamo andati a Bologna per un pday sportivo di zona. Ho comprato anche un'anguria di 7 chili, ma avevo solo un coltello per il pane con cui tagliarla, quindi è stato interessante.

Ora che sono a più di un anno dall'inizio, posso iniziare a leggere il mio diario della missione dell'anno scorso. Ho letto di così tanti miracoli anche solo nella mia prima settimana o due di MTC. Sul momento, però, non avevo idea di essere guidato dallo Spirito e anche scrivendo di quelle esperienze mi sembrava tutto piuttosto normale. Ora, quando ci ripenso, mi rendo conto di quanto fossero cose miracolose e che non è possibile che si sia trattato solo di qualche folle coincidenza, ma piuttosto di eventi guidati dal nostro Padre Celeste.
