Week 50: Leaving the Italy Milan Mission

Yes that's right we drove to the Rome mission this week. Our branch boundaries are all messed up so sometimes we have to drive way outside of the mission boundaries to teach people who technically are in our branch but technically aren't, so until they fix the boundaries we get to bring slancio (momentum, basically synonymous with exponential success) down to the Rome mission.

Anyway, it has been another pretty good week in Miracle City. For starters we have nine people who we're trying to set up baptismal goals with, so tune in next week to see how that goes.

Other than that nothing particularly crazy happened. We've just been running around Ancona trying to teach the massive amounts of people we've been trying to fit into our schedule. We also were able to start teaching this massive Peruvian family of like 10 so we're pretty excited a about that.

Spiritual thought!

"And if your eye be single to my glory, your whole bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no darkness in you; and that body which is filled with light comprehendeth all things. / Therefore, sanctify yourselves that your minds become single to God, and the days will come that you shall see him; for he will unveil his face unto you, and it shall be in his own time, and in his own way, and according to his own will." Doctrine and Coventants 88:67-68

This is a promise from the Lord Himself that if we do everything we can to follow Him, we will have the chance to connect personally to Him. I think that a personal relationship with and testimony of the truthfulness of His Gospel is one of the greatest gifts God could have given us. It can be tough sometimes, because as He says it's in His own way and time, but the promise still is that it will absolutely happen.

Sì, è vero, questa settimana siamo andati in macchina fino alla missione di Roma. I confini del nostro ramo sono tutti scombinati, quindi a volte dobbiamo guidare molto al di fuori dei confini della missione per insegnare a persone che in teoria sono nel nostro ramo, ma in realtà non lo sono, quindi finché non sistemano i confini dobbiamo portare lo slancio (sinonimo di successo esponenziale) giù alla missione di Roma.

Comunque, è stata un'altra settimana piuttosto buona nella Città dei Miracoli. Per cominciare, abbiamo nove persone con cui stiamo cercando di fissare degli obiettivi battesimali, quindi sintonizzatevi la prossima settimana per vedere come va.

A parte questo, non è successo nulla di particolare. Siamo andati in giro per Ancona cercando di insegnare a tantissime persone i cui appuntamenti abbiamo cercato di far rientrare nel nostro programma. Abbiamo anche potuto iniziare a insegnare a un'enorme famiglia peruviana di circa 10 persone, quindi siamo piuttosto emozionati per questo.

Pensiero spirituale!

"E se i vostri occhi sono rivolti unicamente alla mia gloria, tutto il vostro corpo sarà riempito di luce, e non vi saranno tenebre in voi; e il corpo che è riempito di luce comprende ogni cosa. Santificatevi, dunque, affinché la vostra mente sia rivolta unicamente a Dio, e verrà il giorno in cui lo vedrete; poiché egli vi svelerà il suo volto, e ciò avverrà a suo tempo, e a suo modo, e secondo la sua volontà.". Dottrina e Alleanze 88:67-68

Questa è una promessa del Signore stesso, che se facciamo tutto il possibile per seguirlo, avremo la possibilità di connetterci personalmente con Lui. Penso che un rapporto personale con il Suo Vangelo e una testimonianza della sua veridicità siano uno dei doni più grandi che Dio possa farci. A volte può essere difficile, perché, come dice Lui, è a suo modo e a suo tempo, ma la promessa è che accadrà sicuramente.
