Week 20: Hot Boy Summer Anthem Addiction

Hey everyone!

What a week. I've been to Arezzo more times this week than I had my whole mission before. I also blew up Anziano Palmer's phone (he works at the mission's office) so much begging for train tickets that he's probably about ready to block me.

Other stuff from the week:

-We had a million course meal for thanksgiving at the Stefliks' house.

-Sleepover with the Arezzo quad (so 6 total) which was awesome.

-Scambio with Anziano Guthier. He's German and totally destroyed us in soccer.

-We had a baptism on Sunday! President Wood challenged each companionship to baptize this month and we took it seriously. I've never been more stressed on my mission but we saw miracles. President and Sorella Wood also came for the baptism which was super fun.

-We actually managed to have a member meal this week with a less active member named Fratello Bautista! He's super awesome and made us a ton of food.

-Today we had a really intense game of chess in a pizzeria and the guy basically didn't take our orders because of it. We all ended up with marinara pizzas which basically are just tomato sauce and bread without cheese. Kinda weird.

Spiritual thought! I've been thinking about things I'm grateful for, shoutout Thanksgiving. I've been thinking about how grateful I truly am for the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It made me realize how at times it's easy to get casual with following the Savior because it's hard work honestly. When we get lazy about following Christ, we forget about him and what he's done for us and in turn become less thankful. I challenge each of you to find a way to 1) increase your commitment to follow Christ this week by studying, praying, etc more and 2) to list a few things that Christ has personally done for you. When you grow closer to Christ by understanding him and looking for him, you'll stand to develop a deeper and more profound relationship with him.

Ciao a tutti!

Che settimana! Sono stato ad Arezzo più volte questa settimana che in tutta la mia missione finora. Ho anche fatto probabilmente esplodere il telefono di Anziano Palmer (che lavora all'ufficio della missione) per le tante volte che l'ho supplicato di procurarmi i biglietti del treno che probabilmente è pronto a bloccarmi.

Altre cose della settimana:

-Abbiamo mangiato un milione di portate per il Ringraziamento a casa degli Steflik.

-Abbiamo dormito insieme ai quattro Anziani di Arezzo (quindi 6 in totale), il che è stato fantastico.

-Scambio con Anziano Guthier. È tedesco e ci ha completamente distrutto a calcio.

-Domenica abbiamo avuto un battesimo! Il presidente Wood ha sfidato ogni coppia di missionari a battezzare questo mese e noi l'abbiamo preso sul serio. Non sono mai stato così stressato durante la mia missione, ma abbiamo visto dei miracoli. Anche il presidente e Sorella Wood sono venuti per il battesimo ed è stato molto bello.

-Questa settimana siamo riusciti ad incontrarci con un membro meno attivo di nome Fratello Bautista e a mangiare con lui! È fantastico e ci ha preparato una tonnellata di cibo.

-Oggi abbiamo fatto una partita a scacchi molto intensa in una pizzeria e il ragazzo non ha praticamente preso le nostre ordinazioni per questo motivo. Alla fine abbiamo preso tutti pizze alla marinara, che in pratica sono solo salsa di pomodoro e pane senza formaggio. Un po' strano.

Pensiero spirituale! Ho pensato alle cose di cui sono riconoscente, grazie al Giorno del Ringraziamento. Ho pensato a quanto sia veramente grato per il vangelo restaurato di Gesù Cristo. Mi ha fatto capire che a volte è facile diventare superficiali nel seguire il Salvatore, perché onestamente è un lavoro duro. Quando diventiamo pigri nel seguire Cristo, ci dimentichiamo di Lui e di ciò che ha fatto per noi e, di conseguenza, diventiamo meno riconoscenti. Sfido ciascuno di voi a trovare un modo per 1) aumentare il vostro impegno a seguire Cristo questa settimana studiando, pregando, ecc. di più e 2) elencare alcune cose che Cristo ha fatto personalmente per voi. Quando vi avvicinerete a Cristo, comprendendolo e cercandolo, potrete sviluppare un rapporto più profondo e più intenso con Lui.
