Week 15: Professional Musicians/Christmas in October

Amen to that statement.

This week has been all over the place. I turned 20 so that was kinda wack. Guess I'm truly Anziano now (note:anziano means old in Italian). We celebrated by playing soccer, setting up Christmas trees for the Relief Society president, and recorded some Christmas music (more on that later). The Sorelle also got me another Pandoro (a Christmas food in Italy, literally means bread of gold) so we are ready for the holidays clearly.

I gave a last minute talk in church on Sunday about the Milan Temple. It's coming soon! We just gotta work harder so we deserve it. Unrelated but we somehow spent 10 hours at church on Sunday. That never happens. Equally unrelated but I hit 100 days as a missionary today (only 636 to go).

The big theme for this week was working on the mission Christmas devotional. It's gonna be a video online so we need to film it now. We've been recording music for it all week and yesterday the Collegno Sorelle came down to film a video for it. We did it at the Pitti Palace and all the tourists were filming us while we filmed. I love paparazzi 😵‍💫

Miracle this week! We were gonna give our friend a French Book of Mormon on Friday but he was a no show. It was still in my backpack on Saturday and I almost took it out (because literally no one here speaks French) but I decided I'd keep it just in case. On the way to church that day we ran into an old friend of ours whose native language is French so we were able to give him the only copy we had on hand, the one in my backpack. Miracles happen! We simply need to demonstrate faith.

Spiritual thought! Many people ask us why we dedicate ourselves to this work for two years. The answer is that the gospel blesses individuals and families! We want everyone to have the opportunity to change for the better as we have seen ourselves change. Truly the gospel has changed my life and I know it can change yours (yes, you the reader). The gospel brings people together, both in this life and the next. It also offers peace in this life and the next through Christ and his Atonement. We are also blessed to have a living prophet TODAY (his name is Russell M. Nelson) who guides us through hard times like Moses, Joseph, and Noah of old. Truly there's nothing like the gospel of Christ on the Earth and I've seen so much good from it. I promise you as you strive to follow Christ, you'll see miracles. I've seen it and I know you can too.

Amen a questa affermazione.

Questa settimana è stata un po' movimentata. Ho compiuto 20 anni e questo è stato un po' strano. Credo di essere davvero Anziano ora. Abbiamo festeggiato giocando a calcio, allestendo alberi di Natale per la presidentessa della Società di Soccorso e registrando un po' di musica natalizia (ne parleremo più avanti). Le Sorelle mi hanno anche regalato un altro Pandoro (un cibo natalizio dell'Italia, che letteralmente significa pane d'oro), così siamo decisamente pronti per le feste.

Domenica ho fatto un discorso all'ultimo momento in chiesa sul Tempio di Milano. Sta per arrivare! Dobbiamo solo lavorare di più per meritarlo. Non c'entra nulla, ma in qualche modo abbiamo trascorso 10 ore in chiesa domenica. Non succede mai. Ugualmente non correlato, oggi ho raggiunto i 100 giorni come missionario (mancano solo 636 alla fine).

L'attività principale di questa settimana è stata la preparazione del devozionale di Natale della missione. Sarà un video online, quindi dobbiamo filmarlo adesso. Abbiamo registrato la musica per il video tutta la settimana e ieri le Sorelle di Collegno sono venute a girare un video. L'abbiamo fatto a Palazzo Pitti e tutti i turisti ci hanno ripreso mentre lo giravamo. Adoro i paparazzi 😵💫

Miracolo questa settimana! Venerdì dovevamo regalare a un nostro amico un Libro di Mormon in francese, ma non si è fatto vedere. Sabato era ancora nel mio zaino e stavo per tirarlo fuori (perché qui nessuno parla francese) ma ho deciso di tenerlo per sicurezza. Quel giorno, mentre andavamo in chiesa, abbiamo incontrato un nostro vecchio amico la cui lingua madre è il francese, così siamo riusciti a dargli l'unica copia che avevamo a portata di mano, quella nel mio zaino. I miracoli accadono! Dobbiamo solo dimostrare la nostra fede.

Pensiero spirituale! Molti ci chiedono perché ci dedichiamo a questo lavoro per due anni. La risposta è che il Vangelo benedice le persone e le famiglie! Vogliamo che tutti abbiano l'opportunità di cambiare in meglio come abbiamo visto cambiare noi stessi. Il Vangelo ha cambiato veramente la mia vita e so che può cambiare la vostra (sì, quella del lettore). Il Vangelo unisce le persone, sia in questa vita che nella prossima. Offre anche pace in questa vita e in quella successiva grazie a Cristo e alla sua Espiazione. Abbiamo anche la fortuna di avere un profeta vivente OGGI (il suo nome è Russell M. Nelson) che ci guida nei momenti difficili come Mosè, Giuseppe e Noè in passato. In verità non c'è niente come il vangelo di Cristo sulla terra e ho visto così tanto bene scaturire da esso. Vi prometto che se vi sforzerete di seguire Cristo, vedrete dei miracoli. Io li ho visti e so che potete vederli anche voi.
